Didcot Cricket Club runs 3 Saturday teams and a Sunday XI.
The 1st and 2nd XI's plus the Sunday XI’s home ground is at
Didcot Power Station and the 3rd XI use the facilities at
nearby Crowmarsh Gifford. The use of the Power Station
ground was given to us by National Power and the Club has
also gained the use of the neighbouring football pitch. The
idea is to transform this into a practice area with enough
room to have 3 mobile nets complete with Flicx pitches.
The main square at the Power Station contains 12 pitches
which are continually being swapped to allow good general
usage to all.
In recent seasons the ground has held a number of
Oxfordshire County Junior matches, proving that it is of a
good standard. This is mainly due to the hard work of our
Groundsman David Slade and his assistant José Taboada who
spend many hours a week preparing the pitches, and to John
Elsley who keeps the outfield trim.
The Power Station Ground is also the venue for the Annual
Inter Schools Kwik Cricket Competition.
